MartiniqueIn a few words
Martinique is part of the Lesser Antilles archipelago. With a surface area of 1,128 km², it is approximately 70 km long and 30 km wide. It is one of France's smallest departments. The main city and capital is Fort-de-France.
Martinique undoubtedly offers one of the richest landscapes in the Lesser Antilles. It is divided into two distinct parts.
The North consists of a mountainous massif dominated by the Pitons du Carbet and Montagne Pelée. Rainfall is more frequent in this region than in the south, resulting in an incomparably rich vegetation.
The south is characterized by a relief of small hills called mornes. On the coast, superb white-sand beaches overlook crystal-clear waters and wind their way from bay to bay.
